Sustainable designs with bamboo<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Bamb\u00fa Arquitectura, the initiative of engineer Lucas Kremer, is dedicated to designing sustainable buildings, primarily using bamboo, the most sustainable material on our planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bamboo, the most sustainable material on the planet<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Bamboo and wood use energy from the sun and carbon dioxide to grow. During their growth, bamboo and wood consume large amounts of carbon dioxide and produce large amounts of oxygen. Excelent for the environmental balance. For the production of all other building materials, the process is reversed: large amounts of oxygen and a lot of energy (electricity, oil) are needed while large amounts of carbon dioxide are emitted. The construction industry (cement, bricks, concrete, steel, aluminum, plastic, asphalt, etc.) is causing much of the pollution and imbalance of our planet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bamboo or wood? The bamboo used for constructions, Guadua angustifolia, grows in 5 years, much faster than wood (25 or more years). That is why it is preferable to use bamboo instead of wood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make a truly sustainable construction, with a balance of zero carbon dioxide emission, you need bamboo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction method<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Lastimosamente el bamb\u00fa no es muy popular en el sector de la construcci\u00f3n. Con la industrializaci\u00f3n del sector de la construcci\u00f3n, el uso y el conocimiento del bamb\u00fa desaparecieron. Hoy en d\u00eda es dif\u00edcil encontrar trabajadores con experiencia. Tampoco hay ingenieros especializados en el bamb\u00fa. La industria parece m\u00e1s atractiva para la ingenier\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Para promover el uso del bamb\u00fa en la construcci\u00f3n, el ingeniero Lucas Kremer desarroll\u00f3 un new method<\/a> for the construction of caba\u00f1as and houses. An engineering-based method applicable for common workers in the construction sector. The method can also be used in the self-construction sector, common in the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using this new method, Bamb\u00fa Arquitectura offers architectural plans, technical drawings and cost estimates to build caba\u00f1as and bamboo houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
